Differentiated Instructions
What is DI?
At its most basic level, differentiating instruction means “shaking up” what goes on in the classroom so that students have multiple options for taking in information, making sense of ideas, and expressing what they learn. (Carol Ann Tomlinson) |

Flipped Classroom:What we should know about it
In a flipped classroom, teachers make videos of their lectures introducing new concepts and assign them as homework. That frees up precious class time to work directly with students on projects, exercises or problem sets — the stuff that students would traditionally do at home. Now instead, of struggling alone, students can do the most important work with a teacher or peers who can help.

Tribute to Nelson Mandela
Priceless Life Lessons from Nelson Mandela:
- “After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.”
- “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
- “If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.”
- “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
- “It always seems impossible until it’s done."
- “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
- “A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.”
- "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."
- “Lead from the back - and let others believe they are in front.”
- “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”

Integrating Faith, Learning and Living
What is the end purpose of education?
Many of us think that the end purpose of education and learning is mastery of the subject matter. In fact, the ultimate goal of learning is more than just that. It extends far beyond knowledge and skills--it reaches out to making life worth living and sharing. Mastery of knowledge and skills of a subject matter is important. It is the vehicle to build a meaningful life. One way of doing this by integrating faith, learning and living.
If you are interested to know more about this, here is a link to a journal on integrating Christian faith, learning and living.
